Positioning & visibility

Making your work legible to the people who actually decide.

Good work does not always speak for itself. The people who decide on promotions, raises and new roles are busy, and they see only a small part of what you do. Positioning is the work of making sure the part they see is the part that matters: the problems you solved, the risks you caught, the people you helped grow.

These posts cover how to tell whether your work is landing the way you think it is, how to spot the gap between being trusted and being seen as ready for more, and how to talk about your contribution without bragging or hiding behind the team. Visibility here does not mean self-promotion for its own sake. It means giving decision makers an accurate picture, in their language, at the moments when they are forming an opinion.

Start with one question: if your manager had to explain your value to their own boss tomorrow, what would they say? If you are not sure, that is the gap these posts help you close, one plain step at a time.
